Time: This is a short enough walk for
Sgurr a'Mhaoraich to be tackled the same day.
Access: From Invergarry, take A87 west for 5.1 miles, then turn left onto C-road beside Loch Garry, leading to Loch Quoich, and drive just over 3 miles beyond the dam.
Route: There are good paths from the start as far as Spidean Mialach. The traditional descent path was wet and boggy. However, now there is a hydro road going from the lochside road at NH03730256 up to a bridge over the Allt a' Mheil at around 400m. It does not yet appear on Google maps (checked in June 2017), but it is a good, peat-free alternative.
Weather 2/5/04: Cold, wet & windy from 11:00.
Weather 11/3/10: Total whiteout from complete snow cover & thick mist above 800m. Stiff cold W wind. Drizzle all day: rain at low level, snow on high ridges. Location helped by GPS unit.
