Time: This is a short enough walk for
Sgurr a'Mhaoraich to be tackled the same day.
Access: From Invergarry, take A87 west for 5.1 miles, then turn left onto C-road
beside Loch Garry, leading to Loch Quoich, and drive just over 3 miles beyond the dam.
NB:
The only road to the start of the walk was blocked by a landslip in November 2018 (see the
Mountaineering Scotland website).
It appears to have been re-opened in April 2019 (see the comments on the
AGU and
CoastalWalker websites).
Route: There are good paths from the start as far as Spidean Mialach.
The traditional descent path was wet and boggy.
However, now there is a new hydro road going from the lochside road at NH03730256
up to a bridge over the Allt a' Mheil at around 400m.
It does not yet appear on any maps or the aerial views (checked in Sept 2019),
but it is a good, peat-free alternative.
